Re: Carver 2357 Montego

tabs show out for delivery so probably pull out tomorrow and work on that.

going to fill up and take gps with me today. Hole shot is awesome once the tabs get put on will be more awesomer

Replaced ignition switch which promptly fell apart. Pissed off but a pair of pliers got me running. Then I dropped my $300 GPS in the lake

all new rollers on the trailer. Never did that before. Wouldn't think it would have nee that hard.

going to start lookin at the instructions for the tabs. Never drilled thru a boat before....

and so it begins

Separate line to the battery and install a breaker near there.

I did this last year or so, kind of a PITA in the procurement of parts not so much the labor. If you go to the heavier wire (#2 IIRC) you can't find matching terminals ring terminals and the standard 2 plug winch plug does not take that size wire anyway, so kind of pointless IMO. Ended up with #4 (or was it #6) I think so that the crimp terminals, ring terminals and the winch plug would all match up.
The breaker I installed near the battery works as an on/off switch too to shut the circuit down when not in use.

If your gonna do it let me know and I'll shoot ya some pics of how I did the RAM.

Need a set of these, and the wiring to match.

A general guide is for the winch rating to be no less than 75% of the total boat weight, including equipment. The breaking strength of the strap, rope, or cable should be at least 1 ? times the winch rating. Breaking strength of the hook should be 1 ? times the breaking strength of the strap or rope and 1 ? times the breaking strength of the cable.

worth every penny. Barely had the trailer wheels in, rather than back truck wheels touching. Straight on, centered, easy cheesy. Only thing i didn't like was wading out that far; going to have some steps welded on to can walk the trailer out.

btw the dock ramp is usually about 4-8 feet out of the water. Right now its about 3-4 feet under water.

played a bit with the 'free' bimini. Ordered $130 worth of parts to marry the two together. I'm going to eliminate the straps yet still foldable for trailering

Re: Carver 2357 Montego

you can kinda see the tape also, note the push button. That was wired to the macerator right behind the head in the closet that pumped directly from the portapotti overboard.
