Well Mrs Ken and I finally took the plunge and bought a travel trailer. End of season sweet deal. It is a K-Z Spree 2007 model 260. 4,200lb before we add our stuff. Getting the brake controller and the tranny cooler installed tomorrow evening by a mechanic friend that owes me for all the outboard work I have done for free for him. We trade off our services so no money ever changes hands. Pick the trailer up Saturday (hopefully) and as it is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend will be off for a 2 night tryout. heading somewhere about 2 hours away that has a 10 mile long lake. May well go seasonal there next year and keep the boat up there as well. Time will tell. Mrs Ken is madly making lists for what we need to keep in there. Our Trailblazer is good for 5,700lb so we should stay comfortably within the limit as long as we don't go stupid with things to carry.

Trailblazer good for 5700 lbs???

WOW, that seems like a lot for a mid-size suv with a 6 cyl. engine. I think you
are going to have your hands full with that much weight on that vehicle.

Time to spring for a suburban.:D

Should have mentioned, we took it for a 20 mile or so test tow. You sure know it's there but it did a great job. No overdrive used, a few hills that we could find in the "flatlands" that we live in. We certainly won't be crossing mountain ranges with it.
I checked out the Trailblazer / Envoy forum before considering this weight and many folk are towing up to and over the 6,000 lb mark with them. Depending on axle ratio and 4wd or 2 wd the Trailblazers are rated for up to 6,400lb

Congrats on the new addition. Now you need a hitch on the back of the trailer so you can tow the boat AND the trailer!

(Canadian Thanksgiving Party at Ken's! - Guess we are all thankful the Canadian left the house and didn't move the hiding place for the key!)

Ours has a different layout than that one. It has 2 entrance doors. Bedroom at front and full width bathroom at rear.Slide out with couch and dinette. Same styling though. I will post photos when we get it.

That sure is a nice camper and layout. The queen walk around is the only way to go too. I have a 2003 Trail Bay 26BHSS and we love it. Now I"m searching for a campground with boat docks in our area. Happy Campping and Boating!

I'm jealous. I'd love a camper. No idea where I'd store it though. I got the bug after seeing a whole setup for sale on a seasonal campsite for a really sweet price. I enjoy looking at them. That's a really sharp one with a nice layout. I bet you got an awesome deal on it as nothing (not even boats) depreciate as fast as a camper. Just another one of those things it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to buy new. I was kinda surprised to see that you bought one though with having a cottage.

Very nice! Good luck and enjoy!
Now you have a place to stay at the new Meadowlands Stadium to see a Giants game! See you there soon....

Should consider a permanent site down here in the FL Keys. Gulf or Ocean side on the water can be had for $600 a month including utilities. You can't beat a vacation home on the Redneck Riviera for $600 a month.

Cottage is a 5.5 hour drive away and is a little much for 2 night weekends. It is also fixed in place !!!!
With this we can get around some different places when and if we feel like and have it seasonal a couple of hours from home with the boat for the "Friday after work till Sunday late" thing.
This should make every spring, summer and fall weekend a weekend away.:D:D

Re: Just bought a Travel Trailer.

That makes sense.

You're livin' the dream there Ken!

Actually it is 5.5 hours away without the boat on the back. With the boat it is nearer 6 hours.
I worked 7 days a week and many hours each day till about 10 years ago. Since then I have had more and more weekends off. Mrs Ken has always been amazing through the "always at work" times. Other than my world travels for work I have every weekend and all the long weekends off as well as 6 weeks vacation time now.
We feel it is time for as much "us and family" time as possible.:):D:)
