Re: Land of the Oppressed

Too many laws... I couldn't agree more. I have less and less choices all the time in conducting my daily life. It's outrageous. Regardless of that I still think that smokers smell bad and they make my clothes stink ('cause they do). I'm sorry but I still favor the anti-smoking bylaw but I wouldn't bother supporting it in a referendum.

Re: Land of the Oppressed

Until they come up with a better mode of transportation, then i'm stuck with my internal combustion engine car. Cigarettes don't power my vehicle. Cigarettes don't power my boat. I don't like the smell of exhaust fumes either, but it would take me 6 hours, one way, to get to work in my horse and buggy. :D And just because my vehicle pollutes, that makes it ok to smoke in public? Correcting one wrong with another wrong is not a solution.

You have all made some good points, and I am not trying to ruffle any feathers, just trying to make my point also. This is similar to the Hunting, Anti-hunting debate. I am a hunter, and no matter what anyone says, they will not convince me that I should become an anti-hunter......and I have tried to convince the anti-hunters that hunting is not evil, but it has not worked.......and thats ok. So no matter what any of you say, I think smoking is an obnoxious habit, and I don't want to breathe something ELSE that is going to effect my health, and my famlies health,(as I have previously "well" stated). Smoke all you want, just stay away from me and my family please.

Well, I have "beat this dead horse" to death.

I'm out. Gotta go inhale some good 'ol Johnson 2-cycle fumes. ;)

LOL
if'n you are truly concerned and are willing to
show this, my hats off to you.
most ain't IMHO. (double standard?)
don't you see the parallel?
cuz, yur next my friend, and that's the real point
here.
is anybody awake out there?

my .02,
M.Y.

Re: Land of the Oppressed

Did I actually hear a comparison between emission levels of an auto taking a trip across town to a cigarette being smoked outside.Cigarettes are most definately a nasty and unhealthy habit when you're the one on the sucking end ,but lets keep this danger to others topic in check.Welding rods,bar-b-q pits, neighbors lawn mower and weedeater, the propellent in household aerosols, the propelled contents of most aerosols.

Ever walk into the bathroom just after the misses fogged it with hairspray? Now that'll make one grab his chest.

Point is ,If I want the system to protect my lungs then I want my lungs fully protected.

We have nobody to blame than ourselves.

Less than 50% of the eligible voters in this country excersize that right. Unless, of course, you are an illegal alien in Arizona. They can vote-and do!

If you do not think that smoking will be banned in private homes, think again. They already tried it in New Jersey. It failed-THIS TIME!

The cigarette debate is the biggest show of hypocrisy ever. Government agencies keep limiting cigarette smoking, yet they make revenue from taxation of the product.

The tobacco lawsuits were also the biggest scam ever played on the American public, by trial lawyers. The warnings have been on the packs since 1963, I believe. If you don't know that it might be harmful to you, you're a blockhead.

On the subject of global warming. It's a farce. Are we really arrogant enough to think that we can destroy this world?

The automobiles of today put out 1% of the pollutants of cars of the 70's. When I was in school, they were talking about another ice age. Which is it?

If we want cheap, reliable, clean power for generating electricity, we already have it. Nuclear. But, you can't say that word. Everyone freaks out and thinks we're all going to grow three eyes or something. The anti nuke people have been one of the most succesful disinformation groups ever assembled.

Re: Land of the Oppressed

As you people know from my previous post, I have been working on a prototype thing for all the people that don't want to smell or inhale any foul smells.

Also notice the custom clothing.
This is to keep you from smelling like them foul smells.

What follows is some pics of the prototype that I will file a patent on tomorrow. :D

Now in this first shot is a full view of the prototype.
Notice hose running to helmet.
This is for the ones that want to breath clean air.
1.jpg

Now this is just a close-up shot of the hose to helmet.
2.jpg

Now this shot shows rear hose to hook to tail pipe of them gas guzzlers that we drive so we don't breath or smell like their fumes either.
3.jpg

Now this shot shows the position of hose for the ones that smoke and to catch all the bad smoke.
6.jpg

This is a close-up of hose routing.
Notice different position for hose inlet.
5.jpg

And yes ladies and gentlemen, nothing but the best for our fresh air people, a true hepa filter, which will cost $8.00 per filter and it will be good for 2 packs of cigs, 2 days at the bar where people smoke, or 1000 miles in your gas guzzler, whichever comes first.
Re: Land of the Oppressed

At one time maybe, we "Americans" used to be a group of reasonable people making reasonable decisions. Now, everything is polarized into left and right. The issues are l or r and if you come down one way you are construed to be l or r. Having to breathe 2nd hand smoke in my opinion is an infringement of my personal freedom if all pervasive in the crowded buildings, resturants, etc. I also don't like my neighbor freeing his dogs to craaaap in the neighborhood daily to save his back yard. It's a matter of health and respect. Given that, it will be an outrageous loss of freedom if banning smoking is allowed when it doesn't infringe on others. Problem is that the government types want to take care of everyone, so it becomes their business when people self destruct. Lets all sign a release to regain the freedoms we have already lost that have paved the way to these final nails in the coffin.

Yeah yeah, awake we are. I got your point and I said I agree. More freedom not (by)laws. SBN needs a new shrink... and a patent #. :)

Hey SBN, you might want to check with George Lucas to make sure he doesn't have a patent on that Darth Vader outfit. Does this thing come equipped with a light saber?

Guess what, I still hope they make it illegal to smoke in public. ;)

To all the whiners out there.......heres a shoulder that you can cry on.
