Mercruiser Alpha One Gen I Winterization

As others stated...you need to drain the block first. Trying to just pump antifreeze through will just leave you with a diluted mix that will freeze up and crack the block.

    New 20 hp overheating

Have you checked the oil level? Is it low? Is it pumping water out of the tell tail like it should?

2008 Mercruiser 5.0 tks won't go into drive or reverse

So when you move the shifter lever, the cables are not moving at the engine/drive? If so, start at the remote. Could be a broken cable there or at the motor. Is the neutral "button" stuck in? I would start at the remote and follow he cables back to see where the issue is.

    2015 sun tracker pb

You can use the NADA guides to give you a ball park, but value of a boat depends on a lot. Where you are located, condition of motor, hours on motor, with or without a trailer....etc.

MERCURY IDLE ISSUES AND WOT RPMS

Revving well in neutral doesn't really mean much. It takes much more fuel to "rev" under way and moving the boat. Definitely worth checking flywheel key...but either way, new to you motor I would pull the carbs and clean them up well.

1992 Force 40 HP won’t run in gear

You replaced the fuel lines...but what about the tank and gas in it? Was it old gas? Is the tank clean inside? Like Racerone said...start with the basics. Check compression, spark, and make sure its getting good clean gas.

    Prop?

Like Achris said....there is no magic prop pitch you can find for your motor. It all depends on boat, motor, the drive on the motor.... I would recommend going to mecurymarine.com and use their prop selector tool they have. You will need to put in the info on your boat, the motor, and the...

    "Tohatsu" no model/serial #?

The 21012 may be the serial number if it was prior to 2003...the downside is you have to go to Tohatsu.com and send them a message with that serial number to figure out what exactly you have and what parts you will need.

Disconnecting the fuel line, let engine burn gas ?

If you are only going a week or two between uses, there is not point in trying to empty the carbs of gas at the dock...a week or two isn't long enough to have any real issues arise from good gas sitting in the carb. Storing it for months at at time can be a different story, then you could...

2 stroke 70 hp that hesitates at acceleration

I know you said carbs are cleaned...but that seems like it could be a low speed jet that is gummed up...or a float that isn't set correctly. What do you mean by timing seems correct? Have you checked compression?

Mercury 90 running super rough, fuel coming out from throats of carbs.

Fuel dripping out of carbs is a sign that the float needles aren't doing their job and are gummed up and stuck. Start with the carbs....

Dead battery after sitting on trailer

I agree. A battery switch is easy and will ensure you can shut off the battery. Does the boat have an automatic bilge pump with a float? A week of good rain and a bilge running could drain some battery. Otherwise, I would place my money on a switch on the dash getting bumped resulting in...

    Scrap boat or sell it.

If its a 16 foot aluminum jon boat that floats and won't sink...list it. People are always looking for little fishing boats. Worst case, someone offers you less than $500...but you'll still get more than you would for scrap. That's just my thought though....

Mercury 90 running super rough, fuel coming out from throats of carbs.

If it sat for 3 years...even with stabilizer in it...that means the carbs had gas sitting in them for 3 years. Like Scott said, I would start with carbs. pull them and thoroughly clean them. Could have started running fine until a spec of something found its way into a jet and clogged it.

    Newb Here! Good Morning

Your motor--10 A 131 is a 1960 model. Actually made by West Bend, who bought Firestone in 1960. What parts are missing? What are you wanting to know?

2001 Mercury 50 hp 2 stroke leaking fuel

Can't be certain without the serial number of your motor, but it could be where there is supposed to be a "vent Jet." Do the other two carbs have a small jet screwed into that same hole? It would be a part similar to this 1395-6247...

    What is inside the toon?

What type of pontoon and pontoon logs do you have? There are variations of pontoon logs. Some U shaped toons have a foam in them. Ideally, it sound like your toons have 3 chambers...hence the 3 plugs. Are you sure you are checking the right chamber?

AQ125 not going beyond 2000 RPM under load

If you are only getting 2000 RPM's on the water, I don't think it is a prop issue. Even dropping from a 19 to 15 pitch won't get you were you need to be. Does it seem to idle fine in the water? It very well could be a timing issue.

    Spark plug gap difference

They can be gapped, but you need to b extra careful as the thin wire can be damaged very easily. If you go with the Iridium, and they are gapped at .0031, I don't think the .0004 difference will affect much. Or go wit hregular plugs and set the gap to the .0035. I prefer the NGK over AC plugs...

    Spark plug gap difference

You should be using the plugs that your motor recommends using. Why are you using something else? They make plug gapping tools so you can set the gap on your plugs to the correct specs. It may not cause much of an issue...but why add the chance of it causing an issue?
