    your best friend traded his 2 stroke with you and put your cowl on it just kidding .i would put a piece of rubber between the mount and transom also may have a pulley bearing loose or flywheel pull some covers and look at every thing while running

    matt167 my opinion if you live in any place that is not really flat land no 4 cylinder i would strongly suggest a brake job till i could get a full size truck and i respect you and your girlfriend for what sounds like a great relationship many blessings

    i put my finger in the grey oil and smell of it . lower unit oil has a very strong smell

    I don’t think you will get much water out until the thermostat opens or you take it out to check it

    advice on 150 fast strike 97 johnson are known to be good motors i know it depends on care of owners but any weak points to watch out for for instance i found out my 83 crossflow has bad ring / piston design just good points and bad thank you for any responce

    thank you racerone never heard of that one but i believe it will work that is not taught in books i dont think i had never heard of factory breaking bearings to install on crank shaft but never worked on outboards thanks again learned something new

    YES i understand this one is broken in 3 places i suspect they broke it when they messed the locking dowel up , it does not stick up enough now to lock a bearing

    took the main bearing off the outer race is broken but rollers and crank look good i got a hf telescopic guage and my verner mic the #4 is maybe 5 thousands over 3.5 the other 3 cylinders 3 thousands under 3.5 i dont think it has ever been bored before all water passages look really clean
