Where do you buy a gas tank pickup plate for a 50HP?

The Force 50 usually came with it's own metal tank. Someone along the way changed to an OMC plastic tank. ANY tank will work.

Force 125 hp 4 cyl dies at idle. Any ideas what I should check?

It sparks enough to get it started, no prob with spark. If the comp was off it might not start or be really hard to start. The owner said; My engine starts and idles, but then it starts like coughing. That sounds like it's sucking air somewhere??? Do this: start motor/ idle/ then spray...

    Spark plug type

The 85/90/120/125/150 all called for the gapless plugs. The factory used Champion and that's what I used for years. In fact some of my plugs were probably 8-10 years old. Then changed because I felt guilty. :)

    1991 Force 90hp starting problem

Force is quieter. 10 gal for 35miles = 3.5 mpg. Thats really not that bad for such an old engine. The Force will probably get the same. You have to make sure the props the right one for both motors. Had 17p on twin 88/85s wanted more speed. Changed to 19p and got 2-3 mph more. I also got 15%...

    1984 Sea King Chrysler

Video shows the motor running good. The screw on the side is the air screw. It controls the amount of air/fuel mix at idle. Start at 1 1/2 turn out then 1/8th turns after that to adjust. Adjusting it can change the rpm's at idle. IF??? it's running I wouldn't mess too much. New plugs can make a...

Force 85 1989 flywheel magnet pain

Pics of the motor, flywheel and ignition(packs/coils)and lower unit. It sounds like your motor is a lot newer than 89. Not sure but the flywheel shouldn't fit an older motor. Magnets if they're coming apart then you'll probably need a new flywheel.

    1991 Force 90hp starting problem

The first 4/5 posts in this forum have tips/ procedures for your motor. The T@T is covered in one of these. 99.999% of the time a motor that drifts down in the seals in the bottom of the T@T VERY IMPORTANT!! there's nothing in the actual pump that needs any help!! The 2 tiny seals(one shown...

    87 85 hp force

IF? it won't start at 1 turn out: then it's sucking air somewhere??? Get it started, then spray starting fluid around the intake side of the motor, around the bases of the carbs, around/under the coils and power packs. If the spray makes any difference in the way it runs, then it's sucking air...

199170 hp force only runs when fuel is sprayed in carb

That show it's burning the fuel in the bowl and no more gets into the bowl. Check the needle seat and make sure the floats set right(see stickies at top) Sucking air: maybe the bulb, or the quick connect someplace in the line it might be sucking air? Bad seals?

    New motor

Then that might be a good buy. The Yam uses only Yam shifters and their cable, wiring. Like I said, comp and spark tests.

1994 Force 120 Thunderbolt ignition Tachometer hook up.

9710A45, if it looks like this?? Then it's Mercury. CDI puts out a replacement, it looks like the Prestolite stator with a bunch of poles, but it's still a 12 pole. The second one is CDI 12p

Water pump disaster on 4hp Force

That's what I thought :( Lots of times the gasket between the carb and intake goes bad or the screws loose.
