    1969 6HP Impeller replacement

Yep, to remove lower unit, the shift rod disconnect is in the gap formed when you remove the bolts and drop the lower unit down about 3/4". More or less at the same time, the pin has to be positioned to come down through a slot. To do that, remove the spark plugs, then gently pull the lower...

    Ignition swap 1970 60hp 60073D to 1974 70hp

Well ok, I agree, question is will the flywheel work. Next question is will the timer base and stator attach to the crankcase top. Will the electrical bracket holding the coils, power pack, etc work? If you can get past those hurdles, I suppose you MIGHT be able to swap everything over, even...

    Star Board are running hot

Did your rebuild include a water pump? Get that thing off the muffs and on the lake to see if there really is a problem. You can't check a water pump (or cooling) on muffs.

Source or part number for the 7/8"-.875" freeze/core plug used on 18hp blocks

The hole was drilled to remove the plug (by blowing compressed air in). Now you can wonder why they removed it. Sometimes to transfer it to another powerhead. Sometimes because it is a stolen motor. I don't know.

Source or part number for the 7/8"-.875" freeze/core plug used on 18hp blocks

It serves no purpose other than the I.D. so why replace it? But, it MIGHT be part number 307541. I don't have one to measure and verify.

    Starter Solenoid?

The "S" and "I" are relics from a Ford Solenoid. DIFFERENT from an OMC solenoid, however some OMC solenoids still show the markings. On a Ford the "I" terminal sends a full 12Volt whallop to the ignition coil while cranking, bypassing the ignition resistor. On an OMC, the second terminal is...

    Evinrude or Johnson ??

I can't (won't) sit here and research all the differences. But compression ratio (cylinder heads) can make a significant difference in horsepower. Also can exhaust tuning (that bulging exhaust cover is part of it). Lots of other possibilities. Let's just say it all has to work together.

    Evinrude or Johnson ??

    '???----As far as I know pistons are the same for the 3.500" bore crossflow from 1974 to 1998 models.----Be it an 85 / 100 / 115 / 135 / 140 HP model.----The 115 and 135 have the same bore , stroke and displacement !! I stand corrected---sort of. The 85 was smaller bore at 3.375", but 115 and...
