    No. Read the pages. Your engines uses the later linkage, and refers to Image M9-7, which is what your engine has. Enlarge the pic a bit and the Pic becomes Clearer. I also suspect the Fuel Saver Linkage is a bit out of wack. Adjustment of it is also explained, and Images OM9-8 and OM9-9

    That must be why those new to boating keep asking if 150hp on a 16 ft boat is enough to pull a Skier. A 50hp 2 Stroke on the same size boat could pull a couple of people with ease, but not these Torqueless things sold these days

    When I was a teenager, I learned to Ski behind a 40hp, that included Deep Water Starts on a Slalom Ski. I wasn't a feather weight either.

    Perhaps the Water Pump Housing and Plate are worn and need replacement. Was the old Impeller intact, or were pieces broken off? Are the Water Inlets on the Gearcase clear of Debris?

    So the hub was left on the Crank, and the 8 bolts that held the Flexplate to the Hub had been undone?

    You need the Factory Service Manual, it will have the Link and Sync process. Flywheel was off engine? Was the Flywheel and Hub off, or did someone just undo the 8 bolts that holds the Flex Plate to the Hub, leaving the hub on the crank shaft?

    If the timing is off, then someone has been messing around with the engine. There is no Idle Timing Spec.

    Before you go tearing things apart, verify that you got the TDC correct.
