    There are insets that it sits in. Clips into place with the wee lugs on it. The lugs tend to be the thing that lets them down. Don’t hold in place. Give it a while to set before putting the prop back on. It might disturb it

    I think you should likely do a warm test. Just in case you have a sticking valve on that number 2. But I’d also say that 170 psi is a little high too. Maybe the oil doing that. Ok. So if it’s a 434a. It’s less hp than the one I had. You’re about 180ish hp with that engine.

    I’d start with a 19” black max or a good used 19” stainless merc prop, if you get a good deal on it. You’ll always be able to sell a good quality 19” merc prop on. It will be somewhere between there and a 21” for all round use, I’d say. You may r”even turn a 23” in the bottom of the rpm...

    Hi. This really depends what ratio you have. Some 5.0 mpi with an alpha have a 1.47 ratio. Some have a 1.62. If you have the 1.47…there is no way on earth you will run a 21” prop well. Probably not a 19” to the top of the rpm range either. If you have a 1.62…you can likely run either of them...

    Hi. There is a known issue with these on early 115’s and 150’s for sure. My 2016 115 had it come loose. Lots online about it. Can make your engine have exhaust bubbles across the prop blades. Sounds like a misfire at low rpm and can reduce performance at top end too. I saw both. Ended up glueing...

    Sounds like j7’s would be too much for it maybe. But you should defo be able to run b5’s for sure. And maybe even be a little high on rpms with b5’s. Just going from how my heavier boat was.     They can damage or even break clean off, the AV plate they attach to. They may have their place on a boat that just has the plain wrong power in it on it…but other than that, just shocking things. Decades of R&D see merc and similar do withiut them. Who is anyone to argue with them ?

    So just to be clear. Did you just buy one prop for it that’s a j7 ? What was the one that wasn’t missing ? J7 is a fair high pitch. Assuming the ratio is the same as the 290 I had with same engine…I can tell you that I had b5 props on my 23ft cruiser. I wouldn’t go less than that for sure...

    FUEL PRIMER BULB COLLAPSING!!

    Hi. Firstly, I’d say that you don’t require a primer bulb with new engines like this. Secondly, I’d check if the primer bulb is going in the right direction. But I’d remove the bulb altogether. No need for it with new engines like this.
