    gear box oil leaking

    9/10 times it’s 2 stroke oil out exhaust. You’ll soon know if it’s gear oil. It’s horrible stuff and stinks. I’d also suggest that it usually won’t be brown gear oil that’s in the gearbox either. If it’s had the usual quicksilver oil that’s been used.

    Excellent. That a 1.47 ratio alpha ? Quite similar performance to my bowrider. Yet to find a prop that will let it hit 70 and still be half decent at low down acceleration. Almost gutless down low with any serious pitch. Usually run a compromise pitch that will see into the 60’s…but still...

    From the title…I’d guess the prop(s) hub is away…or your outdrive has water in the oil or the wrong oil…and cone clutch is slipping.

    Prop for hole shot water skiing

    Hi. Not a fan…but there likely isn’t a better prop for doing this, than a hi 5 prop. You’ll lose top end and efficiency over a 3 blade…but they sure do a great job of pulling people out the water. If that’s what you want to do 90% of the time…get one. But being fussy…I’d ask what pitch you have...

    The distributor cap and rotor. They are by far the most common cause of issues like this. Notoriously famous for failing. It’s the flat cap spider looking thing on your engine. Terrible thing for failing and gathering moisture at least. Also often cross fire amongst the electrodes too.

    Hi. I think you’re going too deep into this perhaps. That looks like a 5.0 gxi. Hate to rattle on again about this..but have you replaced the diz cap yet ? 100% the most common cause of issue on these engines.
